Attorney Michael Meehan

Prior to entering law school, Michael served as a Los Angeles County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. After earning his law degree, Michael passed the State Bar of California in 1995 and worked as a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, before becoming a criminal defense attorney.
Having worked in law enforcement and as a prosecutor, and now as a criminal defense attorney, Michael has seen the legal process from all perspectives. Michael also possesses a unique tenacity to appeal a case to a higher court, challenging a judges’ decision, and exercise the full appellate process of the court system. Michael’s perseverance and knowledge of case law and the Constitution has resulted in cases being dismissed, prior convictions being dismissed, and arrests being found unconstitutional.
Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles, where he was student body president, and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School. He is licensed to practice law in California, Tennessee and Kentucky. Michael continues to advance his education and professional practice by attending the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers DUI/DWI summer conference. He is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and BALIF (Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom.) Based in Northern California, Michael has been practicing law with The Kavinoky Law Firm since 2006.
